 #62583 was a case of this involving the `iweb` mirror.

 Replying to [ticket:62325 jmroot]:

 We've been advising portfile authors to do this since at least 2012; see
 wiki:howto/AvoidRedirects. It is beyond high time for all ports to follow
 that advice.
