 As a special feature, MacPorts automatically compresses all the manpages
 when destrooting:

 I am not sure (with 10 seconds looking) if this can be turned off somehow,
 or if there is some established workaround Portfiles use to get around
 this for these rare occasions where you (apparently) want them
 uncompressed...
