 I should note that IRC is not at all beginner friendly, and represents a
 high barrier for new people who might contribute to MacPorts. It
 effectively requires one to have a computer running 24/7, with a reliable
 permanent network connection, just to be able to read delayed responses.
 RocketChat preserves the full chat history, so there no need to set up a
 permanent connection.
