 Herby, could we at least make Ken's recommended change (comment:6), to fix
 the failure on 10.9?

 > if you make a build dep to {{{git}}} and set this env var
 {{{CARGO_NET_GIT_FETCH_WITH_CLI}}} it will likely work; they all worked
 for me on older systems with that.
