 ...and you probably can't do that because universal builds are not
 possible on macOS Catalina.

 darwinbuild is ancient; I'm not surprised it's not building on recent OS
 versions. There are other open bug reports about it here. Feel free to
 contribute any fixes for the port if it's important to you.
