 Builds OK here with gcc-4.2 on PPC. It looks like there are/were similar
 issues with {{{libsdl2_net}}} and friends. Right now the auxiliary SDL2
 libraries completely blacklist GCC (see commit
 65a407c6d754f20c0972fdd8f43f6af093757771), which isn't too helpful on PPC.

 I wonder if this would be a candidate for a CompilerSelection flag to
 correctly handle the logic across compilers and platforms (blacklist
 gcc3/4 on Intel/universal, clang < 211, and nothing on PPC).
 {{{compiler.intrinsics yes}}} or something like that.
