The little patch to disable the error when redefining asm labels (to give
clang the behaviour it had before this test was added in clang-3.8) does
in fact work, and it allows software that failed with this error to now
build. That looks suitably low risk, I believe, that we could consider
that as a fix until/unless we come up with some more elegant method to use
by tweaking <sys/cdefs.h> in the legacysupport headers, perhaps.
