Comment:

 Closing this as `worksforme` since it does & I think the issue here is
 with the user's use of `/usr/local` installs.

 Also, the forthcoming libtool 2.4.7 will remove the whole `xattr` stuff.

 If this is incorrect then please reopen and supply more info as to what's
 going on.
