 It is a disarmingly simple way of getting past these hiccups. It also has
 the very helpful feature of properly setting up the PATH, which the app PG
 method does not do by default.

 It might be preferable to avoid use of launch scripts, unless absolutely
 necessary. Particularly given the complexities surrounding code-signing,
 GateKeeper security, etc.
