Comment (by lawlist):

 Is there any particular method of forcing `rust` to successfully install
 on OSX 10.6.8 at this point in time?  I tried yesterday with `sudo port
 install rust`, but was met with a message stating there is a system
 requirement of 10.7 or greater.
