 Fair enough.

 A couple more test results - I modified the Portfile to build 2.64.6
 +quartz without any of the patches, and my GTK3 +quartz hello world test
 works again. I then tested 2.70.2 without any of the patches and that
 worked as well.

 In the meantime - is it possible to only include the universal patches on
 universal builds, or similar? It sounds like the current plan will take a
 lot of work, and in the meantime GTK3 +quartz is completely broken.

 At least I have local workaround now, which I'll use for the upcoming VICE
 arm binary distribution.
