 Yes, I have stopped for now reporting identical failures with `ld` abort 6
 message until the error is investigated on my end. It seems to be specific
 to 10.6.8, I do not recall this happenning on 10.6 PPC (and certainly not
 in such numbers) or 10.5.8.
