 groff just shells out to ghostscript/psutils/netpbm in shell scripts. It's
 probably doable to patch autoconf files to hard code those paths and move
 those three packages to depends_run. Likewise, uchardet is statically
 linked into groff and urw-fonts is used at build time to create font
 files. Those two are both depends_build dependencies.

 If these changes are made would it get around the AGPL/GPL distribution
 problem and allow MacPorts to ship a binary groff?
