 that doesn't seem to be fixing this. /usr/bin/clang is still being used
 for the build.

 during the link, -stdlib=libc++ is not making it onto the link line, for
 backend_agg.cypython-310-darwin.so, at least, and it's linking against
 /usr/lib/libstdc++.dylib instead of libc++.
