 I can't see how you can realistically add the muniversal PG in base. Too
 many Portfile tweaks are often needed to support it.

 People who use gcc to build ports on systems from 2003 should be happy
 that it works at all with even one architecture... just disable universal
 (or tell them it is not supported to build universal) with gcc and be done
 with it until somebody who cares fixes gcc to make it easier.

 adding the muniversal PG to 25,000 ports to support building ppc/ppc64 on
 LeopardPPC is just ridiculous, and macports should not allow any more of
 this.
