 Whatever other massaging of arguments or variables (override
 `configure.sdkroot`?) is required to tell the build to use that SDK
 instead of the one it would ordinarily use.

 Seemingly, because a binary (library or program) that the port installs
 links with a library that does not exist (because it does so by its path
 in the build directory and the build directory no longer exists).
