 Hello,
 I am new to using Xquartz and don't have much idea regarding it.
 As far as what I have seen until now is I should use Xquartz to login to a
 remote linux server and use edit on that remote server (GUI or non-GUI
 based)
 Is my understanding right regarding this? If not please correct me.

 I have MacPorts and Xquartz installed on the computer.

 All I need is gedit to open the code files saved on my Mac computer.
 Can I know the steps or link to any guide which tells how to get that
 done?
