 the `implicit function declarations` are fixed upstream already; I've
 submitted [https://github.com/macports/macports-ports/pull/14403 a PR] to
 update the port to its latest version and at least it builds fine for me
 on macOS Cataline. It does run as well but since I don't use it I don't
 really know how to test whether everything works as intended - feel free
 to install the Port from the above-mentioned PR and provide feedback.
 We'll wait a few days for the maintainer to look it over but knowing
 whether it works for you would be helpful.
