 Trying to build universal MacPorts on new Macbook M1.  Problem occurs with
 a fresh install of MacPorts.

 % sudo port install ossp-uuid +universal

 Using Xcode 14.1RC1 (because MacPorts on MacOS 13 says Xcode 14 is not new
 enough)
