 I think this may have been caused by this commit:
 https://github.com/macports/macports-
 ports/commit/6512d33b4aacaf83c638ddaa289a98a59da4bb92

 While it's correct that those gcc versions support changing the stdlib,
 the portgroup code is just changing the nominal stdlib without adding the
 necessary `-stdlib` option to `CXXFLAGS`.
