 I had a similar issue:
   Error: gcc9 9.5.0 is not supported on Darwin 21 i386
 Followed @bradman1972 instructions above. Specifically, uninstalled
 everything that depended on libgcc9 and then uninstalled libgcc9 and that
 solved my issue.
