 I thought that macports firewalled its software into /opt/local to avoid
 this kind of thing.

 I do install things in /usr/local, this is very normal and even necessary
 on a unix machine.  I'm afraid if I just ham-handedly start deleting
 things from /usr/local/lib it will break other software I depend on.

 I would think that there a flag to pass to CMake to force it to ignore
 /usr/local, if you don't want it looking there.  Would that be possible
 here?
