 Well mako @1.2.4 declares to support only 3.7 .. 3.10. So it probably make
 some sense that py36 subport has been removed, though I see that py27 and
 py311 subports are also provided.

 Now I am not aware which policy is in place wrt to phasing out old
 subports, but if dependencies cannot be maintained we probably need to
 remove depending ports.
