 Thanks for the quick answer!

 If the dependencies' licenses prohibit distribution, then how can HomeBrew
 have a binary distribution ("bottle")? Also, how can git be downloadable
 for Windows as an executable? Is the gdbm/libunistring dependency specific
 to how the package is set up in MacPorts? If so, can it possibly be
 reformulated in a way that doesn't depend on non-distributable packages?
 (Eg. through a variant.)
