Comment:

 I think the situation has stabilized to the point where the gtest
 developers have given in and accepted that distributions will package and
 ship their library, and occasionally projects do use a system-installed
 gtest where available.

 As a consequence, I think we should just keep gtest as it is today, like
 other distributions.
