 Absolutely, just need to validate that `glib2-devel` is properly patched
 vis-a-vis `glib2`, to avoid breaking our PPC users. And will take care of
 this today, as it's time for it anyway.

 nothing says we can’t use our own cookie files (and it would actually be
 much simpler if that was all we used all the time on all ports, but I
 leave those politics for you to play with).

 Never considered that option, but sounds like a great idea! Will use that
 going forward, where necessary.
