 The Generic Mapping Tools Developers would really like to continue to
 support GMT via development by some of us on macports.  But since not even
 a peep about what the challenges are and where you are in this sequence
 makes that impossible to plan.  Nobody expects volunteers to spend all
 time on this but it is considered polite to at least give some updates.
