Comment:

 We don't use an upstream binary anyway; we always build our own from
 source.

 It's not our job to ascertain which random commit of a project might be
 stable enough to ship to users; it's the developers' job to do that. The
 ticket tracking that is https://github.com/ytdl-org/youtube-
 dl/issues/31585.

 If the latest version of youtube-dl (which is in MacPorts) doesn't work,
 consider using the yt-dlp fork (which is in MacPorts) which last time I
 checked did work.
