a bunch of universal builds of clang-16 are showing up here:
https://packages.macports.org/clang-16/
but not the one for 10.8 (yet). I am completely unable to know how to find
that attempted build, successful or not, on the buildbot.
But it works fine for me, and the other universal builds, so it's still
likely something unique to your machine.
If you really want to see it work, you would do this:
{{{
sudo port -f deactive active
sudo port -v -N install clang-16 +universal
}}}
and then come back later to find it built.
If that does build on your system, as it likely will, then you will have
confirmed some conflicting port was active.
I don't imagine anyone will ever bother to figure out which one, but if
you really really wanted to know, you would add back batches of ports
until the build fails....
