Comment (by ryandesign):

 MacPorts normally deletes logs of successful builds but while
 investigating this issue you could set `keeplogs yes` in macports.conf.
 Then, if you encounter the issue again, check the logs. You'll want to
 comment out `keeplogs` again after this is solved so that your disk
 doesn't fill up with unneeded logs.
