 It seems a bit hopeless that ImageMagick will be updated in the next
 decade ;-)

 Perhaps someone closer to the MacPort maintainer can contact whoever would
 approve merging the changes and get guidance on the acceptable approach?

 I am not qualified (and don't bandwidth to learn) to do the main work, but
 would be happy to help convert dependencies.
