 In the process of working on the 1.4.8 update I discovered numerous
 problems with funtools for which I prepared bug reports and a pull request
 for the developer, but he responded that he has ceased software
 development last year and his software is now unsupported. He
 [https://github.com/ericmandel/funtools/issues/22 suggested] that an
 interested party should fork the project and continue its development. I
 will still attempt to update the port but I recommend you look for a
 supported alternative (or, if it's within your interest and skill, you
 could consider taking over the project).
