 There has been a commit to support Apple Silicon in 2021:
 https://github.com/openwall/john/commit/c9825e688d1fb9fdd8942ceb0a6b4457b0f9f9b4
 But no release has been cut since 2019. So maybe there should be a new way
 offered (via a port variant?) to build the port from the GutHub master
 branch.
