 we have so far resisted enabling the EGL emulation subsystem in mesa as it
 has no hardware acceleration, unlike the GLX subsystem. EGL uses a slower
 software renderer.

 If more and more software requires EGL and can’t be configured to use GLX,
 we might be stuck, and have to enable it…

 But seems like qt6 should have some way to not require EGL on MacOS…
