 libsdl2-snowleopard is indeed really only for 10.6.

 You'd have to make a new port, libsdl2-leopard and set that up to work on
 leopard using a similar mechanism.

 It's easy enough -- the portfiles for it were in my LeopardPorts repo and
 I still have them if nobody else does.

 But nobody has done it as yet.
