 Please, let's turn down the temperature.

 Chris has both no systems that can run i386/x86_64 universal, and no
 interest in it. So that won't ever happen.

 However, there are plenty of others who do have both systems and interest,
 and someone will either fix it (most likely) or change the defaults if it
 can't be fixed.

 Give people some time. This "emergency" is barely discovered.
