Comment:

 Yes, Sparkle is for automatic updates, and you're right, we don't need or
 want Sparkle in MacPorts, but many ports still have Sparkle because it's
 not always straightforward to remove it; the developers don't always
 anticipate that anyone would want to do so.

 Did it say in what way those files were broken?
