 The problem seems to only occur when trying to upgrade an existing
 install. On my build machine I had previously uninstalled {{{octave-
 specfun}}}, and I get

 % sudo port -v install octave-specfun
 octave-specfun is known to fail. Try to install anyway? [y/N]: y
 --->  Computing dependencies for octave-specfun.
 --->  Fetching distfiles for octave-specfun
