 Reviewing those instructions (it's been awhile since I wrote them), I
 guess there aren't any steps to be performed on macOS 10.13.

 You shouldn't even have been able to get to the point of being able to try
 to install maxima-devel since its dependency sbcl doesn't build on 10.13
 (#66002).
