Comment:

 Given how old this ticket is - and the version of `smake` involved - I
 believe this issue is now fixed.

 In addition, the port was just updated to 1.7, via the following commit:

 https://github.com/macports/macports-
 ports/commit/f66ee9691ae78995bed02c36c317a4a9debd28bf

 But if you still encounter the issue after updating, please let us know
 ASAP!
