 You should not attempt to install the MacPorts port. That port only exists
 for Josh to use to create the installer packages. Attempting to install
 that port should print an error message to that effect.

 Well it says that in the first attempt in the log, but subsequent attempts
 in the log say:

 {{{
 :debug:main dropping privileges: euid changed to 502, egid changed to 501.
 }}}

 That should be the macports uid/gid.

 I concur that retrying after `sudo port clean libiconv` is a good thing to
 try.
