 be able to reproduce on your own system and verify a fix before

 The error does not happen with GCC, at least on the system I have access
 to atm (10.6.8 Rosetta). I am away from my normal hardware until about the
 end of month, so neither native PPC nor my testing Intel systems are
 available.
