 Early in a build of gimp, the build of dependency appstream-glib failed in
 what appears to be determination of the linker version.

 The Xcode tools were updated on the machine before attempting this.

 System: MacBook Pro (M1 Pro)
 OS: 13.5.2
 Xcode: 15.0.0
