 $: port select llvm
 Available versions for llvm:
         mp-llvm-13 (active)
         mp-llvm-15
         none
 $: port provides /opt/local/bin/llvm-ar
 /opt/local/bin/llvm-ar is not provided by a MacPorts port.

 After setting `llvm` to version `none` the binary `llvm-ar`
 is not present anymore.

 Above is the result of the command you asked me to run.
 Selecting the version `none` for the port `llvm` solved
 the problem.

 However, I don't understand why the binary `llvm-ar` is
 not set as provided by MP even though the port is installed
 and a version active.
