 it has been stated in other tickets that the gobject_introspection
 PortGroup requires updating to work properly when interacting with ports
 that build with meson.

 In general, g-ir-scanner and gobject_introspection have been a fairly huge
 PITA to deal with, as they are extremely touchy entities that need lots of
 tweaking to work right.
