Comment (by ryandesign):

 This is a well-known problem with older versions of boost that we have
 already fixed in the boost ports but the alps port uses a bundled copy of
 boost. We'll either need to patch the copy of boost used here or switch
 the alps port to use one of the MacPorts versions of boost.

 The alps port's homepage has disappeared. Maybe a new version which might
 already fix this problem is available if the project has moved its
 homepage elsewhere.
