 Starting with GTk4 (for which there are still few dependents), could it
 please be possible to redesign things so the X11 and Quartz variants can
 be present on a single system INCLUDING applications/libs built against
 them? Ideally such that it would at least be possible to have GTk4/Quartz
 versions in addition to GTk3/X11 versions of some applications.

 My current reason I'd like to see this is to have a GTk4/Quartz version of
 epiphany in addition to an (older) GTk3/X11 version that can also be used
 remotely. This would of course require 2 versions of webkit2-gtk (an older
 and a newer, undoubtedly) in addition to all the other GTk libraries.
