 I tried to find out if the SDK version was the problem. I installed
 MacOSX13.3.sdk from a backup, and then used:

 {{{
 export
 SDKROOT=/Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/Platforms/MacOSX.platform/Developer/SDKs/MacOSX13.3.sdk
 sudo port upgrade outdated
 }}}
 which upgraded qt6-qtwebengine.

 (I could have done a combined command, of course)

 This upgraded without problems. So apparently the SDK version mismatch
 with the OS was the problem.
