 one of the reasons I did not push the recent PR enabling newer nodejs
 versions on older systems was that each nodejs is using it’s own bundled
 libuv, not macports system libuv.

 these bundled libuv versions were certain to be broken.

 So these will need to be all individually fixed, and they are all
 different libuv versions.
