 Update: This has continued to happen, also outside Emacs (in a terminal
 window) _also_ after having upgraded to an Apple Silicon machine.

 Unfortunately I have never remembered to enable logging those times when
 it crashed. I did an `upgrade outdated` and `selfupdate` today with
 logging and it did not crash.

 I do not know your policies for closing issues, but I assume I can reopen
 this ticket if I ever manage to get a logfile and a crash at the same
 time.
